SETTING A PRICE FOR CARBON

How the decision of pricing was made.

GC-Dollar looked at many things and, in the end, we settled on the global CO2 emissions and the GDP of the world in 2019. Then we divided the gross domestic product of the world by the amount of CO2 put into the atmosphere in 2019 and then we rounded it up, to the nearest thousand.

𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑮𝑫𝑷 $𝟏𝟒𝟐 US 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 ÷ 𝟑𝟔. 𝟖𝟏 𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 tonne 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝑶𝟐 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 = $𝟑𝟖𝟓𝟕.𝟎𝟎 𝑼𝑺 𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆, the amount we came to was $4000.00 GC Dollar’s.

This price is fixed for 20 years to be reviewed in 2039, increasing revenue through the creation of regenerating environments and improving people’s lives.

GC-Dollar’s price for a tonne of carbon grown into a bio-diverse living environment was set at $4000.00 GC-Dollars per tonne.  This price is intended to inspire people from all communities to find ways to rebuild living environments, creating a brighter future for all people.

The newly minted GC-Dollars will be divided six ways.

A. GC-Worker/s

B. GC-Landowner

C.Global Climate Dollar Pty Ltd

D. GC-Residual Payment account

E. The country where the carbon was accumulated

F. 1% Of the newly minted GC-Dollars that come from the newly included land/water for 50 years goes to the person or business or charity or to GC-Dollar, who signs up the land/water.

GC-Dollars will be offered in addition to landowners and workers entitlements under local employment laws, when our currency/commodity makes it to market, it will be offered as, an “as-well-as” not “an instead of”.

This price was based upon the amount of money being made putting the carbon into the atmosphere during 2019 and is set for review in 2039. We feel it better represents the value of the activity of growing organic carbon back into bio-diverse living environments.

Our commodities value is in the agreement between the community holding it and the belief that the restoration of living environments is important enough to honour that agreement. After all, a currency is just an agreement between an organisation and a community, it is Global Climate Dollar’s goal to become a digital mint that only produces this commodity in response to the accumulation of organic carbon.

The creation of GC-Dollars and its value were intentionally not linked to any form of offset carbon credit or equivalent scheme, as the level of evaluation required could be beyond the financial reach of the most vulnerable people in our global community, and therefore could restrict access to those who live in the very environments we need to save and encourage to be regrown.

Through this simple concept we can, reward people for successfully rebuilding and caring for living bio-diverse environments. By paying them the same amount in all countries for a tonne of carbon grown into a living environment, we can help close the poverty gap, and what we ask in return is that anybody accepting our currency, agrees to buy sell and trade at their convenience, at our known exchange rates for over 170 countries currencies around the world when trading with GC-Dollars.
